We are bubbling with excitment

Vitalie Tattinger

Welcome back to the DIamonds Hatton Garden blog where we bring you the latest insights from our Hatton Garden jewellers. In today’s blog we share some exciting news with our readers as we celebrate our recent collaboration with British filmmaker Frank Marrion and his latest documentary, “Sparkling: The Story of Champagne”.

Champagne stars like Vitalie Taittinger, Bruno Paillard and Jean-Baptiste Lécaillon (Cristal / Louis Roederer) are joined by wine expert Oz Clarke, actor Stephen Fry and Sir Winston Churchill’s grandson, Sir Nicholas Soames, among others.

‘It’s a love letter to Champagne,’ said Frank Mannion, MD of Swipe films and also the film’s writer and director.

Mannion, who co-produced the documentary with Oxana Popkova, said his starting point was a fascination with the life of Dom Pérignon, the Benedictine monk forever associated with the development of Champagne. ‘It’s such a vivid, evocative story,’ he said.

Following on from our previous collaboration with Swipe Films, Diamonds Hatton Garden collaborated once again with the writer and director and provided a diamond pendant to be used in a special promotional event. Every one for inventive marketing ideas, Frank’s wonderful and fun suggestion was to hide the gift in a glass of champagne at the UK premiere of the film.

Following the UK release on 25 June, Mannion said that France’s Canal+ plans to show the film later this summer, following July’s Cannes Film Festival.

A release in Australia and New Zealand is expected from around 25 July, with releases in the US and Scandinavia then set for August. Wine fans in Israel were expected to get access to the film in September. The trailer for the documentary can be viewed below:

Once again, all of the team at Diamonds Hatton Garden would like to thank all at Swipe Films and offer our congratulations to the lucky winner. For more information about our beautiful diamond jewellery and to book your personal appointment today via info@diamondshg.co.uk or on +44 7951 060238.
